Forum on rural vitalization to be held in SW China’s Chengdu

BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) — The 2019 Anren Forum, which focuses on rural vitalization and a new type of urbanization, will be held on Oct. 18 and 19 in the ancient town of Anren in Chengdu, capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, according to the Counselor’s Office of the State Council on Wednesday.

The forum, the fourth of its kind, will invite experts and scholars in politics, commerce and theoretical research from across the country and abroad to discuss the relationship between rural vitalization and the new type of urbanization, as well as their integration and development needs.

A report will be produced based on the forum for the reference of the country’s future policymaking.

The second Renowned Cultural Town Expo and the second Anren Biennale Exhibition will be held simultaneously as the forum takes place.

The Anren Forum was first held in 2016 under the guidance of China’s National Development and Reform Commission. Jointly initiated by the Counselor’s Office of the State Council and Chinese Culture Promotion Society, the forum aims to serve as a high-end platform under the theme of in-depth integration of culture and urbanization.
