Aria-Aycell merger approved

Aria, the joint venture cellco between Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM) and local investors Is Bankasi, has received approval from Turkey’s Telecom Board to merge with Turk Telecom’s Aycell. The merger was announced in May and should end TIM’s roaming dispute in the country, with the Italian group and Turk Telecom each taking a 40% stake in the new operator, with Is Bankasi controlling the remainder.
