Avea attracts a million through MNP

Turkish mobile operator Avea has announced it has ported nearly one million subscribers since mobile number portability (MNP) was introduced in November 2008. The company’s CEO, Cuneyt Turktan, claims that Avea has attracted the most subscribers out of all of the Turkish mobile operators through the MNP scheme. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Avea held 12.2 million subscriptions at the end of December 2008, giving it a market share of 18.51%.
