Avea installs Telenity’s SMSC

The Turkish mobile operator Avea has signed a deal with Telenity for the provision of its Canvas short message service centre (SMSC). The high capacity messaging servers are ready to support next generation services, the companies say. Jamal Fakory, chief technical officer at Avea, says: ‘With Telenity’s Canvas SMSC solution we were able to introduce the kinds of innovative messaging packages we had in our growth plans. Canvas SMSC provided us with a sound infrastructure for high SMS traffic volumes.’ Avea is the smallest of Turkey’s three cellular operators, with around ten million subscribers and a 15% market share according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database.
