The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 94 cents per share.
The maker of stainless steels and special alloys posted revenue of $641.4 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $628.1 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $167 million, or $3.43 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.38 billion.
Carpenter shares have climbed 26% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 18% in the last 12 months.
