HBO Max expands european presence with Turkey
HBO Max added Turkey to european expansion and named Barış Zavaroğlu as Turkey Chief
HBO Max appointed Barış Zavaroğlu as Country Chief to Turkey as it continues to build its international teamand preparing to launch its platform in Turkey. HBO Max will launch in a further 21 European territories, including Turkey. It is presented live in 46 territories in the Americas and Europe. The streamer has also made a series of hires to several teams across its European offices. Barış Zavaroglu’s appointment is the latest extension to this strategy. Zavaroğlu, who will report directly to Christina Sulebakk, General Manager, HBO Max EMEA and starts with immediate effect.
Barış Zavaroğlu was the General Manager to Turkcell’s -the leading mobile telco operator in Turkey- local OTT and pay TV business TV+. Before joining to Turkcell, he was CMO for Fox Turkey and worked for Disney in a senior management role for Eastern Europe and the MENA region.
HBO Max EMEA Chief Christina Sulebakk said: “Baris joins us at an important time as we prepare to launch and grow in a strategically important market.
