Intracom claims right to buy 10% of Telsim from Vodafone

16 Dec 2005

Intracom’s president Socrates Kokkalis has revealed that his company has the right to acquire up to 10% of Turkish mobile company Telsim from Vodafone within the next three months. The right stems from an agreement the Greek defence and technology company has with Vodafone, which acquired the Turkish mobile operator earlier this week with a bid of USD4.55 billion. Kokkalis added that he hopes that Intracom will soon come to an agreement on strategic cooperation with Russian company Sistema.

In a separate announcement, Intracom’s president added that the company had received regulatory approval to acquire alternative internet service provider Hellas On Line.
