Motorola scores another win against Uzan family

The US Supreme Court has ruled in Motorola’s favour in its dispute against the Turkish Uzan family. The court found that the Uzans, one-time owners of the wireless operator Telsim, are guilty of massive fraud against the equipment vendor to the tune of USD2.13 billion. A earlier decision by the US District Court found the Uzans fraudulently induced Motorola to make loans to Telsim, stole the collateral given to Motorola to secure the loan, filed false criminal charges against Motorola executives and stole USD1 billion from Telsim for personal use. The Supreme Court’s decision ends all the Uzans rights to further appeal in the US.
