NEC wins Turkish DSL deal

NEC Australia has won a contract from Turk Telekom for the supply of 221,000 DSL lines, following the successful installation of 320,000 lines over the past two years. The new order makes NEC the second largest DSLAM supplier to the Turkish incumbent. NEC Australia claims to have supplied in excess of one million DSL lines in its home market and is the supplier of the TV over DSL technology used for PCCW’s much celebrated nowTV service in Hong Kong.
