New year, new tariffs
Turkish cellcos Telsim-Vodafone and Avea have both announced tariff cuts in a bid to lure new users. Avea has introduced a marketing campaign which claims to offer the lowest cross-network call charges, according to a report from Turkish Daily News. Telsim-Vodafone, meanwhile, is using the international presence of its UK-based owner in its own New Year marketing drive, offering international calls to other Vodafone networks which are cheaper than the equivalent landline tariffs. Market leader Turkcell has not joined its competitors in cutting prices, and has even increased some pre-paid tariffs.
