Oger eyes Telecom Italia’s Avea stake

According to Turkish news site Zaman Online, Turk Telekom’s (TT’s) new owner, Oger of Saudi Arabia, is planning to acquire Telecom Italia’s 40% stake in TT’s wireless arm Avea. According to the report Oger wants to complete the deal via TT, 45% of which is publicly owned. In July last year Oger Telecom bought a 55% stake in TT. Oger Telecom is a joint venture formed by Saudi Oger, TIM and BT Telconsult.
