
Regulator approves Turk Telekom, Invitel deal
Turkish telecoms regulator the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA) has approved Turk Telekom’s proposed acquisition of units owned by European data capacity firm Invitel, reports Reuters. The acquisition is part of Turk Telekom’s drive to increase its presence in the lucrative data services market. Turk Telekom first announced the planned acquisition in May. Invitel is currently owned by private equity firm Mid Europa.
