Turk Telekom 2014 revenues increase 3.7% y-o-y to USD5.5bn

Turk Telekom has reported revenues of TRY13.602 billion (USD5.483 billion) for the twelve months ended 31 December 2014, up 3.7% from TRY13.117 billion year-on-year. The improved top-line was driven by growth in Turk Telekom’s mobile and broadband segments, which saw sales increase by 12% and 8.5% y-o-y, respectively; fixed voice revenues declined by 10% in the same period. Meanwhile, annual EBITDA grew 1.2% to TRY5.047 billion, up from TRY4.986 a year earlier. Elsewhere, CAPEX was reported at TRY2.169 billion for the twelve months under review, a decrease of 2.7% on an annualised basis.

In operational terms, Turk Telekom’s Avea mobile unit saw net additions of 1.8 million on an annual basis; the operator’s mobile base stood at 16.3 million at year-end, of which 8.5 million were pre-paid users. Meanwhile, total broadband subscriptions reached 7.6 million at end-December, of which 729,000 were fibre-optic users and a further 395,000 customers were connected to VDSL networks. IPTV users increased slightly to 289,000 y-o-y. Finally, Turk Telekom’s total fixed voice user base dropped from 12.5 million to 11.4 million on an annual basis.
