11 Jun 2019

Turk Telekom (TT) has claimed a first in Turkey with the pilot deployment of a 400Gbps Ethernet broadband network solution in Ankara, as it looks to meet rapidly accelerating data usage demand. TT’s Yusuf Kirac said of the project: ‘Thanks to 400Gbps Ethernet technology, the data stream can be realised four times faster. We aim to extend this new technology to the whole country and provide a better customer experience to our subscribers in the near future.’ TT’s press release notes that with 400Gbps bandwidth, approximately 16,000 UHD 4K videos can be watched at the same time, and the content of a 50,000-book library can be downloaded in one second.
