Turk Telekom says it will appeal fine
Turkey’s Competition Board has fined the country’s dominant fixed line and internet operator, Turk Telekom, TRY12.4 million (USD7.9 million) for abusing its market position in the broadband sector. A statement from the watchdog said: ‘It was decided that Turk Telekom abused its dominant position in the retail broadband internet market with pricing pressure.’ The telco, which offers internet services via its subsidiary TTNet, has responded by saying that its operations are legal and that it will appeal the ruling.
