Turkcell Q2 revenue, EBITDA jump 21.3%, 19.6%

Turkish mobile and broadband operator Turkcell reported revenues of TRY6.191 billion (USD1.114 billion) for the second quarter of 2019, up 21.3% year-on-year, with net income of TRY465 million, up 12.1% y-o-y in the three months ending 30 June. EBITDA of TRY2.553 billion for the quarter – up 19.6% y-o-y – gave an EBITDA margin of 41.2%. Turkcell highlighted mobile post-paid quarterly net additions of 215,000 and mobile ARPU growth of 16.6% year-on-year, alongside residential fibre ARPU growth of 17.2%. It also noted ‘strong demand’ for its fixed-wireless access (FWA) product Superbox, now installed in 130,000 households.
