Apple Investigation will go deeper, CA adds retail chains in to the investigation

Turkish Competition Authority Expands Apple Investigation to Include Retail Chains such as German Media Saturn, Teknosa and some local chains

The Turkish Competition Authority has broadened its investigation into Apple Teknoloji ve Satış Limited Şirketi to include major retail chains such as Media Markt and Teknosa. The probe now examines allegations that Apple may have fixed resale prices and coordinated buyback prices in the market.

On February 27, 2025, the Authority initiated an investigation into Apple and several technology firms to determine whether they violated Article 4 of the Law on the Protection of Competition. The investigation also scrutinizes claims that Apple and its resellers may have restricted competition by sharing sensitive data through the Fintegre system. As part of this, a preliminary investigation was launched into Apple, Fintegre Teknoloji Tic. AŞ, Media Markt Turkey Ticaret Ltd. Şti., Teknosa İç ve Dış Ticaret AŞ, Artı Bilgisayar, Gürgençler Bilişim, Easycep Bilişim, Getmobil Teknoloji, and HB Bilişim.

Following its April 10, 2025 meeting, the Competition Authority deemed the preliminary findings serious and sufficient, deciding to open a formal investigation into these companies. The new investigation will be conducted in conjunction with the earlier probe initiated on February 27, 2025.
